World war III???

It’s just three days into the year and the trending news is the possibility of a third world war😮. Trerrible. This is following the death of Qasem Soleimani a top military Commander in Iran and Abu Mahdi al-Muhadi an Iraqi militia Commander as a result of an airstrike at Baghdad ordered by the US president Donald Trump on Friday. The move has resulted in an uproar amongst folks and the media with many tagging it a wrong one which would put the lives of many in danger. President Trump has defended his action saying that Soleimani should have been killed years ago being responsible for the death of many Americans over the years and that he was also hated and feared in Iran. The bottom line is that it was done to protect Americans from future attacks.

However this is popular news by now . The question is, what are the possibilities of another world war?

While the action of the United States seems provocative, it is more of a retaliative one considering the fact that the US and countries like Britain, a strong ally of the US have been attacked by Iran in recent years, so this could be seen as a comeback, a scary one at that. On the pedestal, Iran is seen far and large as the trouble maker, so they might be watchful how they retaliate. Russia and China, major allies of Iran might not want to get involved because Iran sure asked for it and it’s against the US, a world-dreaded army. However both countries have enough sophisticated weapons for something like this and reports have it that US is preparing for the worst case scenario. The situation is just really tensed as nobody can say for sure, everyone is poised to see Iran’s next move. Many countries especially here in Africa are hoping they resolve their issues among themselves, because nobody wants to experience another war, at least not me😑.
